A non-governmental organisation, Community Focus Foundation Ghana (CFF-Ghana) has called on the President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to sack all underperforming security personnel to safeguard the country’s security.
According to the group, the security infractions including electoral violence, brutal ritual killings, armed robbery, and missing persons amongst other crimes witnessed in recent times threaten the collective survival of citizens.
CFF-Ghana believes that these crimes are increasing by the day because of some officers in the security space that are not doing their jobs well.
“We condemn the actions and inactions of such officers we call nation wreckers in the strongest term ever.
“To safeguard our nation’s peace and security, its critically important we name and shame officers who allow themselves to be compromised and take actions injurious of the constitution of the Republic,” part of a press release from the group has said.
It continues, “By this release, we are calling on the President of the Republic, HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo to as a matter of urgency make changes to unperforming security heads in order to reposition the nation’s security architecture and put our nation on the path of sustained progress and prosperity.”

PRESS STATEMENT
For Immediate Release
The insecurity situation in Ghana very alarming; some heads must roll at the nation’s security agencies to safeguard the peace and security of Ghana.
Community Focus Foundation Ghana (CFF-Ghana) is deeply worried about the insecurity situation in Ghana.
Though peace and security are the heart and soul of any fledging democracy, Ghana, a country highly touted as a democratic state in the Sub-Saharan Africa has been in the news for the bad reasons so far as state security are concerned.
The security infractions including electoral violence, brutal ritual killings, armed robbery (high rate of robbery and killing of mobile money vendors and other individuals etc…) and missing persons amongst other crimes witnessed in recent times threaten our collective survival as a people.
Also, the gradual introduction of vigilante groups into our body politics by the political elites to perpetrate mayhem on political opponents further attest to how vulnerable we have become as a nation, when it comes to our security.
We consider the continuous sloganeering of critical national issues including security by the ruling class over the years very hypocritical.
In our candid opinion, the insecurity situation as we find ourselves in today as a country is largely to due to alleged biases demonstrated by some security heads. Instead of being loyal to the colours of Ghana, they turn to ”worship” the appointing authority at the expense of the state who they are mandated by law to serve diligently.
We condemn the actions and inactions of such officers we call nation wreckers in the strongest term ever. To safeguard our nation’s peace and security, its critically important we name and shame officers who allow themselves to be compromised and take actions injurious of the constitution of the Republic.
By this release, we are calling on the President of the Republic, HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo to as a matter of urgency make changes to unperforming security heads in order to reposition the nation’s security architecture and put our nation on the path of sustained progress and prosperity.
